To: Our valued
customers,
Re: QS-9000
compliance
Stewart Steel
Specialties is a small (4 man) custom metal fabricator with a record of
quality workmanship spanning 99 years.
We have always
maintained a basic quality control system and have more recently implemented
improvements in the documentation and record keeping aspects of same.
While we
recognize the value of QS9000 for industry as a whole, we do not feel the
expense of a QS9000 subscription is justified in our situation at the
present time. We have been advised that exceptions are allowed for small
companies of our type by the IASG Sanctioned QS-9000 Interpretations
document (Appendix I: Additional QS-9000 Registration Requirements / Section
4 / Subcontractor Development).
We will continue to cooperate with our customers Quality Control Departments
regarding their respective ongoing QS9000 program requirements and intend to
continue improving our own long standing system of quality control
management and documentation.
We look forward
to continued service to our customers and to maintaining the high degree of
quality we have always been known for.
Sincerely,
Rick Stewart
