Steel Specialties
is our sheet metal
fabricating shop located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. We are a
family owned operation with long experience (my great grandfather opened the
original shop in 1911). This allows us to deliver the high degree of
expertise and personal service our customers count on.
We produce a variety of custom, prototype,
and short run fabricated sheet metal components and assemblies from carbon, stainless,
or galvanized steel, as well as aluminum, copper, brass, and titanium.
We can fabricate parts to your specs or will design parts for you if required. We can work up
your parts from a rough sketch, AutoCad data, or even by your verbal
description.
Our tooling is geared toward shearing,
punching, forming, welding, and assembling sheet metal components. We also
outsource with a network of local machine shops, metal coating facilities,
powder coaters, and laser cutters, allowing us
to provide a wide range of finished metal assemblies.
If you are looking for a custom sheet metal fabricator , please consider getting in
contact with
Rick Stewart
or John
Stewart.
We would be happy to provide you with a timely and competitive quote.

METAL FABRICATION /
EXAMPLES OF OUR PRODUCTION |
-
MACHINE
GUARDS
, enclosures & panels,
belt &
pulley guards,
tanks, splash guards, drip pans & trays, and misc. brackets are
just a few categories of items we custom fabricate for builders of OEM
machinery in the automotive, machine tool and robotics industries. We supply
the general industrial sector with guards for machine repair, upgrade and
OSHA compliance.
-
SERVICE PARTS
(replacement parts no longer stocked by an
OEM) for a variety of customers is also an important
segment of our business. We have made parts for material handling equipment,
ATM units, and automatic transportation systems (to mention only a few).
-
METAL DETAILS....we can
fabricate to your engineering drawings or even to rough sketches and verbal
description when required and can help design parts for you in many cases.
-
MUSCLECAR RESTORATION PARTS....we
manufacture over 50 different restoration parts for the Chrysler HEMI muscle
cars of the 1960's and 1970's in short run batches of 50 to 100 pieces per
run for
MSE Enterprises in Walled Lake, Michigan. We
can produce parts along similar lines for you as well.
-
PROTOTYPE
sheet metal parts and assemblies
for pre production engineering purposes is another area we work in. We are
limited to parts that don't require elaborate special tooling, but our
standard metalworking tools can do more than you may expect. We also make
extensive use of laser and waterjet cutting for this type of part.
-
LABORATORY / TEST
EQUIPMENT
has been a traditional
part of our business as well. Metal details for Automotive R & D test
equipment,
storage modules for cryogenic freezers,
drawer units for pharmacy
storage, and fixtures for clean rooms are just some of the items we have
produced along this line.
-
ARCHITECHURAL METALWORK,
structural and decorative, is another area we touch on. We have supplied
custom fabricated sheet metal details, metal fixtures, and weldments to
building contractors, maintenance departments and fixture/display
builders.
-
ICE
CREAM CABINET PANELS....built
to order custom stainless steel panel kits for the
Kelvinator line of Ice Cream
Cabinets (see our
Kelvinator
page for details).
